The unusual material used for the shade – ceramic foam – gives the Reef family its inimitable character. With its coral-like texture the material has unique light characteristics and extraordinary design qualities: Switched on, the shade shimmers in gentle, atmospheric light that is diffused subduedly throughout. From the opening in the shade, however, light is emitted at an extremely wide, bright, shadow-free angle. This enables either an entire room to be illuminated from the ceiling or alternatively a small area to be highlighted on its own. Reef Wall and Ceiling for example are ideal for corridors, bathrooms and stairwells. Thanks to its low thickness, a mere 95 mm, the small luminaire Reef Ceiling is particularly suitable for low ceilings. Reef Suspension has its name written all over long tables, while Reef Single lends itself to small bistro tables and, lined up in a row, counters.
